Libby, Montana Abestos Case Finds W.R. Grace Not Guilty

Libby, Montana - In a case that has been mishandled terribly, W.R. Grace was found not guilty in connection with the asbestos contamination of Libby, Montana.

Three former executives were found not guilty on all charges after 11 weeks of trial. W.R. Grace faced up to $280 million in fines if found guilty.

The judge, Donald Molloy, had chastised the prosecutors for failing to turn over evidence and using testimony from sources whose credibility was in question, among other things. Tim Racicot, an assistant US attorney, admitted, “We just dropped the ball.”

Molloy said that there was a “failure of process” and that he did not believe anything the prosecutions’ star witness had to say.
